Greenway Bike Trail
Greenway Bike Trail Leetonia Reviews
Easy Bike Ride Aug 09, 2008
For travelers in northeast Ohio looking for a relaxing but still physically engaging activity, the Greenway Bike Trail is a good option. The 10-mile trail runs between the small towns on Lisbon and Leetonia. The paved route cuts between forested land for most of the route, keeping the trail cool even on the hotter summer days.
Sights along the trail include the Teagarden Covered Bridge and the Little Beaver Creek. Wildlife can also be spotted, mainly birds (hawks, cranes, geese) although deer have been known to jump the trail.
The trail is not a difficult ride; it follows the old railroad route. Near Leetonia it is possible to see a train on the operational tracks. The trail is more uphill on the Lisbon to Leetonia route than vice versa.
Facilities are minimal so take food and water with you from wherever your start; there are several jumping on points besides the two main entrances. Portajohns are available at one point on the route and at the Leetonia site. Picnice tables are scattered along the way.
In good weather there will be other bikers or hikers on the trail although it will not be crowded.
