If you are looking for an easy activity for an hour or two, the Greenville Zoo is a good choice. They have a variety of animals that are in good view. We visited in the early afternoon and were able to see most of the animals even the ones sleeping in the shade.

This is definitely a small city zoo. There aren't the big shows with the animals doing tricks although one cage of primates provides their own version of entertainment with some loud hooting. There are not a lot of amenities but the zoo is small so you are never far from one of the two restrooms.

The zoo was clean and the paths were easy to navigate. Pushing a stroller might give you a little workout with the hill but I don't think it would be too bad plus you can pause along the way.

The informational signs did a good job of letting visitors know what animal they were looking at; I would have liked maps with each animal to show me their natural habitat as well.

The zoo is located in a large park so just outside the zoo is a neat-looking playground and space to wander. Parking right next to the entrance is limited but free parking is only a short walk.
