Green Star Siem Reap Reviews
Non-profit authentic khmer food Apr 17, 2010
A guy I met on my travels had met the owner, Doug, and suggested that we should try something out of the ordinary.
So we did.
The Restaurant is a small place outside of town and Doug who is a permanent volunteer at the local Green Gecko Project for street children is giving all of the profit to the project. http://www.greengeckoproject.org/
When we came in Doug and his wife was there so he greeted us and told us about the food as it is made like the locals would do (and by a local chef) and is not been westernized like the restaurants in town.
I got a yellow curry in coconut cream - one of the best I've ever got and my friend got roasted beef with lime and pepper.
As an after dinner snack we got fried frog, which taste a bit like chicken wings :D
I can highly recommend this place. Both for the food but also for the good cause it supports. So give a good tip even though it's really cheap to eat there.
