Through Mother Teresa's garden Mar 21, 2017
Just behind the convent and church of St Francis is a garden dedicated to Mother Teresa of Calcutta and a surprise to find the Byzantine Orthodox Greek cathedral, St Nicholas de Myra at the end. Consecrated in January 2004 by the Patriarch in the presence of Fidel Castro after a change of name. The church was originally dedicated to Saints Constantine and Helen. The church was built in 1950 but strangely, never used for services. It was closed on our passing and no info for opening times or services.
