Graz with its population of about 280k is Austrias second-largest city and is the capital of the federal state of Styria (Steiermark).
Graz is a student town (over 40,000 students) and also loved by international students. You have to see the old town and visit the largest medival weapon museum in the world, the Landeszeughaus. It has weopons and armor to suit 30,000 soldiers, most of it dating back to the 17th century. Walk up the Schlossberg, a 123 m high rock right in the middle of town, to see the beauty of this city from above. The Schlossberg Cave Railway is the longest grotto railway in Europe and winds around scenes from fairy tales. This is a good activity for those with children.

Graz, Austria -› Lviv, Ukraine -› ...
Endlich unterwegs!

But beyond the people factor, there was so much delight to wander around the town and to explore the things and places that tell a story for ...

Frankfurt, Germany -› Lucca, Italy -› ...
I went out one night on my own and went into a local student bar (by accident- I mean I went into the bar on purpose, I didn't know it was a student bar) in Graz's Bermudadreieck (note: every town in Austria seems to have a drinking center known as the Bermuda Triangle). There I tried to talk to someone who seemed like she might be a tourist. Boy was I wrong. She really only spoke a couple of words of English, and wasn't able to say much above the loud music. At the sa...
