Graz is the capital of the province of Styria, 124 miles Southwest of Vienna and with a population of approximatelly 250 000 habitants. From day 1 Graz was full of surprises for me, a new discovery awaited at every corner: hidden alleys, romantic inner courtyards, ornate facades and magnificent b…

I visited Graz in 1997, when I went there for an European Ecumenical Meeting, June 23-29. It was a nice experience to meet peopl…

I went out one night on my own and went into a local student bar (by accident- I mean I went into the bar on purpose, I didn't know it was a student bar) in Graz's Bermudadreieck (note: every town in Austria seems to have a drinking center known as the Bermuda Triangle).  There I tried to talk…

Steiermark (Styria) is my favourite state in Austria. Wonderful rolling green hills, the home of Schwarzenegger, the best wellness spas, and for some reason nearly all the nicest friendly people in Austria. I hadnt seen Graz yet so made this welcome detour to stop by for a visit...

Graz a great city to visit, even if you have only a day. Visit the Schlossberg, see the Hauptplatz have lunch at Jakominiplatz and take a coffee at the Murinsel. And feel the different livestyle than Vianna. If you have more time, stay and taste a bit of Graz fantastic nighlife. And if you like medieval stuff, don't miss to visit the medieval weapon museum - on of a kind!! I think Graz is a place you shouldn't miss.

As much as we dont want to think about it, even good looking girls have to crap every day! The vast array of toilets in the world have fascinated me for a long time. This blog will be continuously updated as long as I continue to travel the world and wake up needing to hang a dump.
