A contemporary, glamorous place to dine Dec 11, 2015
The Grant Grill is the restaurant of the US Grant Hotel of San Diego. It's historic, stately, and timeless—a vastly different place than the tourist traps. Located in Gaslamp within walking distance to shopping, theatres, and the Convention Center. A performance of the San Diego Symphony at nearby Copley Symphony Hall or a show at the San Diego Repertory Theatre would be perfect complements to dinner at Grant Grill. For those who have tickets to Opera or Ballet they provide 20% discount.

An art deco styled dining room that was once reserved for San Diego's most powerful businessmen (and men only - women were not allowed in before 3PM until the late '60's).

While there is no dress code, the refined atmosphere tempts you into wearing your better threads. They focus on the California, native and classic american cuisine mixed in with artistic and French influences. It’s the mix that makes The Grant Grill so artistic, unique, chic.

For the beginning we were served fresh, steaming bread, a warm round polished with egg wash, flavored with garlic and salted; warm inside, nice texture, comforting with butter. So good!

Roasted duck breast was amazing with the poached egg and risotto, eggplant.

38 day dry aged ribeye - very flavorful and yummy.

Unfortunatelly due to law their legedary the Mock Turtle Soup is not available anymore.

From the environment, to the food, to the service, everything was wonderful.

If you visiting San Diego make sure you dine at least once at the Grant Grill!
