Grandee Taipei Hotel

The Grandee Taipei hotel is new. They have just opened this hotel beginning of this year (2009).
Because it’s so new, everything is so clean. I also like the security precaution they adopted. The room key is an ordinary card type; however you have to use it when you need to use the elevator to get into your room. When we leave the hotel, we have to deposit the key at the reception! The reception staffs are very friendly and helpful. They are so efficient, by the time we walked up to the desk (when we came back from outside), they already have our key in hand! Their efficiency kind of scares us!

The room we stayed is a large and clean room with DVD player, brand new flat screen TV, mini refrigerator, comfortable bed, coffee and tea making facilities.

Our bathroom is nice, big and clean, especially the bath tub where it can fit 2 people in it! They also provide complimentary toilet amenities like shampoo, hair conditioner, shower gel, moisturizer, toothbrush, toothpaste, comb, shaver, cotton buds and even dental floss!

They have a very nice restaurant. Our complimentary buffet breakfast was great! We especially love the omelet. They offer Western and Chinese breakfast. There is a cappuccino machine that only makes espresso which was a little too strong for me but way better then other hotels that provide regular coffee. There is a very nice outdoor café in the hotel. Too bad it was too hot to sit outside during the time we visit.

The location is the best. It located in the Shilin night market, yet it shield from the noise of the crowds. It is not too easy to find though, the walk way into the hotel is narrow and immediately next to a gas station. The JianTan metro station is jus a 2 minute walk from the hotel. It is so easy to go anyway by the metro. The best thing I like is in the night market. If you decided to grab a snack, it is 2 minutes away! There is also a 7-11 right at the corner of the hotel.

We find it funny where there is not safe in the room. Usually there should be a safe in this kind of deluxe room. The other thing we wish they will improve on is to put up more lights in the room. This hotel dose not provides currency exchange service however we could have it done in a post office 3 minutes walk away.

The room rate is cheap and definitely worth the value of money we paid. It is about USD80 for the room we stayed !We will definitely go back to this hotel if we visit Taipei again!
