While back in Wasilla between field contracts, my company put me up here at the Grand View Inn & Suites. I find the place to be a real treat. My standard room is very comfortable and well furnished with a queen-size bed, a computer desk and chair, and a couch with a coffee table. The couch can be folded out into a second bed. A tall vanity holds a large television, a refrigerator and microwave, storage shelves and three dresser drawers. An open closet contains coat hangers, a luggage stand, iron, and ironing board. The modern well-lit, roomy bathroom has a large granite countertop with toiletries, a hair dryer, and a coffee maker.

I requested a smoking room and got 203. Odd-numbered rooms have the spectacular view of the jagged snow-covered Chugach Mountain Range which lies between Wasilla and Anchorage. Black-out curtains help to darken midnight skies. The room has wireless internet access as well as a data port. The hotel was opened just this year and is next door to a Chili's Restaurant which is also new.
