Beautiful hotel in Grand View Garden Mar 25, 2008
The Grand View Garden Hotel is situated near the idyllic Daguanyuan, a garden specially created for the multi-Oscar missing film "The dream of the Red Mansions". The hotel looks like a big old Chinese - not forbidden - palace with typical roofs; a combination of classical architecture and contemporary comforts.
Smiling staff of the 4-star Grand View Garden Hotel opened the door for me and traditional dressed/gorgeous looking Chinese girls welcomed me with a dito smile. The lobby is very impressive. Big and full of shining marble. Large reception. A chinese girl was playing the piano accompanied by another violin playing girl. Great accoustics! A huge staircase leads to the first floor where my room was. The room was nice but not harmonizing with the high standards of the rest of the hotel. A few restaurants, fitness room, pool, wellness, even a shop with many sorts of Chinese souvenirs, everything breathed quality. I felt king in China!
