Maybe it's just because I adore animals, or that I'm a total child at heart.. but I can't help but get excited when I go to the grand rapids zoo! The zoo is free for the month of February, and after that admission spikes to $6.00. Inside, you will find llamas, bears, otters, wolvarines, tigers, penguins.. you name it. For a community zoo, it's a lot of fun. In the summer, they offer camel rides! Anyway, I've been twice and I love it..
though heed my warning : DO NOT STAND BY THE PENGUIN TANK WHEN THE ZOO MAN THROWS FISH IN THE WATER. there's nothing quite like getting dirty water splashed on you.. dirty water that penguins poop in...and eat sick fish in..
