Grand Hotel De la Paix Lyon

I found this hotel on booking.com the same day as we had planned to arrive in Lyon. There were two things that triggered me to take is; the primary one was that it was situated right in the middle of the city and the second one was the price; we one paid 65€ for the twin room.

When we arrived we were pleasantly pleased with what we saw. It was easy to get a parking just next to the hotel and in from of it there were several restaurants and cafés. We arrived on a Sunday therefore parking was for free next to the hotel but it was quite expensive after 9am Monday morning 3-4 € an hour.

The check-in worked smoothly, and I quite fast determined that the pictures on the web had taken the hotel to a dimension where it did not belong, but we were not going to stay in the hotel so we didnt care that much. The elevator could take 2 persons and a suitcase!

We had a room on the fifth floor and it was ok but not something special; it was like a basic city hotel. The bathroom was actually okay and in a much better state than one could expect.
