Grand Hotel Bar Harbor - Reviews - Bar Harbor

The Bar Harbor Grand is located just a block or so a ways from Bar Harbor Green (Town Square.) From what we understand this hotel is a more recent recreation of one that had burned down years ago. All of the hotel’s appointments are very well kept. The rooms are a good size and all of the facilities work as expected.

We had very little interaction with the hotel staff. This was to no fault of theirs. Everything was easily understood and we had express check out. I did have the continental breakfast one day. It is all cold items. Works fine if you just need to grab something quick before you get going. You can not blame them for not wanting to try and compete with all of the great hot breakfast spots in town. You will have no problem finding a super place to start your day, all within walking distance.

Bar Harbor is built for walking. The Acadia National Park provides shuttles that can take you to all of the major and most of the minor areas of the park. Because of this the most important thing you need is a parking spot. We only drove the car one time our entire stay.

The Grand was very nice. However, most every place in Bar Harbor is kept very nice. We did not see any hotels the were run down or looked sub par. Because of this fact next time we may choose to save a little and stay at some other hotel. Again to no fault of the Grand, it is a great hotel.
