A storm over the Grand Canyon
The forested rims are high enough to receive winter snowfall, but along the Colorado River in the Inner Gorge, temperatures are similar to those found in Tucson and other low elevation desert locations in Arizona. Conditions in the Grand Canyon region are generally dry, but substantial precipitation occurs twice annually, during seasonal pattern shifts in winter (when Pacific storms usually deliver widespread, moderate rain and high-elevation snow to the region ...

Today was a wonderful day of relaxation. We rode our bikes around a lot. We arived in Mather campground this morning and we have had a lot of fun here. It is really pretty and there are lots of elk around. I have never seen elk before so I never realized how huge they are.
This morning we saw a wonderful view of the Grand Canyon. It was so beautiful and big! I guess that is why they call it the GRAND canyon.
After seeing our campsite, we went and watched the Grand Canyon Imax movie. ...

Hey everybody! Sorry I have not been writing in my blog much. I have not been getting internet.
Right now I am at a gas station, right outside the North Rim of the Grnd Canyon! It was soooo beutiful, and you could see each layer of rock.

Bueno

After going well out of our way we made our way north and in from the very east entrance to Grand Canyon National Park. This made it possible to stop at many overlooks to get pictures.
The first overlook was at one of the Navajo trading post places along the Little Colorado River Gorge. They had many tables set up with their crafts of jewelry, pottery, and wooden items. They charge a small fee to come in and view the Gorge and look at and maybe buy their crafts and use theri restrooms. ...

The Grand Canyon was really pretty and amazing. I hiked in it and my Mom suggested that we should stop and I said, "Oh no, I want to keep on going!" But she was right. It was really hard to hike back up. We saw some mules- I wished I could ride them.
At the campground, we went to the campfire where Ranger Lori talked about mountain lions. She had 2 dead skins and you could feel them. They felt really soft. She also told us that their tongue is very r...

Today is a short entry. It is late at night and I don't feel so hot.2 days ago my sister and I walked 1.5 miles to the grocery store. A very pleasant walk. We shopped and called my mom to see if she needed anything. I ended up carrying back 2 grocery bags of bottled water. Today, we replaced the battery in the motorhome. The truck battery (not the one the lights and refrigerator run off of but the one the radio and ignition runs off of) died. My dad meant to replace it before we left si...

Had a great visit out west-- mostly to southern Utah. Don't have time to write much now, but I'll put up some pictures. Hope you enjoy them! If you have any questions, just ask. :)

We started our day at 4:45 am....Yes, I did type that correctly...4:45 am...That's the time the alarm went off. We had to be at the Golden Nugget Hotel and Casino at 6am and the walk there was going to take us 20 minutes or so...so let's just say we were up pretty early that day!
Our coachdriver was a really funny Mexican man (although he didn't realise he was so funny). He would tell us all about where we were going, and some of the history of the place and facts too. He was very knowlagea...
