Grand Cafe Willem van Oranje
Grand Cafe Willem van Oranje Reviews
Grand cafe Willem van Oranje Sep 27, 2009
After meeting each other at the Delft railwaystation we walked towards the center of the town, where we looked for a place to sit down and talk, and have something to drink.
This grand cafe got a big terrace on the Markt. It was sunny weather, so we decided to sit outside. We ordered something to drink, and soon it was brought to our table(s). Then a few of us wanted to have something to eat as well, actually it turned out everone except one ordered something to eat. They serve lunch and dinner but we did not want a big meal, and they had a nice selection of pancakes and sandwiches. When the food was served it turned out the sandwiches were rather big, club style, and I suspect they sliced their loafs themselves or have the knifes of the machine set at large gaps, portions were generous. The pancakes were good as well. I had poffertjes, and they were not really special, however acceptable. The interior of the Grand cafe is in Old Dutch style, with nice Delft Blue tiles and old utensils as decoration. Part of the Sunny afternoon Meet-up travel blog |
