The burial place of the well-known people of American history Sep 12, 2017
A site along the Freedom Trail, the Granary Burying Ground is a cemetery where some of the well-known people of history are buried. Next to the Park Street Church, it should easy to find.

Dating back to 1660, it is basically a collection of gravestones, which may or may not mark the actual burying sites of the individuals. And it has not always been well-maintained over the years, until recently.

Some of the notable people buried at this place include Samuel Adams, Paul Revere, John Hancock and all the victims of the Boston Massacre. Plus the parents of Benjamin Franklin, which is marked by a big obelisk.

This place is definitely worth a visit for the history buffs, mainly to visit the final resting places of the big names of early American history.

It can be seen quickly, and free to enter. So not a waste to visit this place.

Crowded but worth seeing Oct 10, 2009
This is the final resting place for many Patriots. I have a personal connection here as my ancestor Robert Treat Paine is buried here but this cemetery is also the final resting place for Paul Revere, Benjamin Franklin's parents, Samuel Adams, John Hancock, victims of the Boston Massacre, Mother Goose and many, many others. It was teeming with people the day we were there, but worth a look. I would have loved to have been there on a less crowded day as the cemetery has a peaceful feel to it, and is definitely the proper resting place for these esteemed individuals.
