Gran Atlanta Hotel Madrid
Gran Atlanta Hotel Madrid Reviews
A Bit Tired Aug 21, 2008
I had this hotel booked as part of my package to fly from New Zealand to Spain return. It is a 4 star hotel but the decor the rooms the location are not up to that standard. It is out of the way and obviously is getting most of its clients from large tour groups.
You can find cheaper and better elsewhere in Madrid in my opinion. |

The Hotel Gran Atlanta is far from "Gran" if you are equating the word "Gran" with "Grand." But don't be discouraged, keep reading! The hotel is located at 34 C/ Comandante Zorita. There aren't many close attractions, other than the Santiago Bernabeau Stadium were Real Madrid play. The closest metro is Alvarado off of the blue line, but expect to walk 6 or 7 blocks to get there. The main lobby is very "70's-ish" with dark wood and gold as the welcoming colors. The rooms are typical of European Hotels, but the bathroom was recently remodeled and looked great. The hotel offers a European style breakfast every morning in their dining room. It consists of coffee, croissants, biscuits (cookies), fruit, etc. Im not positive but I believe the breakfast was included with the price of the room. Speaking of prices, it is pretty reasonable for what you get. I chose to stay there because it closer to Barajas Airport than being in the city centre of Madrid (if you ask the front desk, they will arrange to have a cab pick you up whenever you need it!) The hotel was in no way dirty or uncomfortable. I was happy with my choice of hotel and reccomend it for anyone who doesn't want to stay in a hostel and doesn't mind walking a bit!

So I didn't get much sleep at all the day before, but that was all good. I headed out into the city, grabbed some lunch at the supermarket for later, and headed toward the Palacio Real. This palace is the official residence of the king, …… Madrid - Day 2 |
