A replice of the Governor'sHouse Feb 03, 2017
The original Governor's House was constructed in 1903 but it was completely destroyed in 1943 during WWII. A replica of the house was built around 10 years ago for use as a high class hotel which i believe costs $2500 a night. I managed to walk around the grounds and peer through the windows but it did not seem operational. there certainly was no security nor staff in attendance, but the replica building is certainly worth taking a look at. In front of the house is a vineyard, all the rows carefully numbered on a board. the Htoo group opened up the Governor House Hotel but the group were subject to sanctions so maybe this is why it appeared closed. I did take a look through the front door and there are many items from the last century in the reception area.

If you are interested in vintage cars pop up to the old Governor's House and you will see two old models. I was a little disappointed as they are not looked after properly as the interior was dirty and had never been cleaned in a long time.

With help from VT member CDM7 it looks as if the first car is a 1950 Triumph Mayflower and the second a Humber Super Snipe from around 1949
