I'd never been to Sweden before. A long time ago I met someone from Göteborg and had always intended to visit the place some day, but simply never got around to do so. So now I was finally here, and I must say, it didn't disappoint. Even though we only visited the city for a couple of hours, I soaked up enough of the atmosphere to decide I'd have to come back some day to pay a proper visit to this city. Tomorrow I'm leaving heading North, picking up Sofie in Antwerp on the way to Sweden, then from 19th July from Netherlands with Ineke to Portugal, so much fun to be had, so many roads and kilometers to be covered.

It has taken me two days to realize that there are no traffic lights here.  Well, there are three, all on the largest street by the train station.  The second largest city in the country and there are three intersections with traffic lights (and no stop signs whatsoever).  I thought all the drivers were just being nice and always stopping to let me cross, but I realize they have to!I have also not seen a Starbucks since I left Berlin.  People seem to frequent 7-11 for thei…

Last summer in 2007, I took a long awaited car trip from Sweden to Germany, down to Geneva, the east across the Alps to Vienna, then up to Prague, then north to Sweden. The highligt of my trip was entering a glacier. Very cool!
