Gordon's London Reviews
Gordon's Apr 13, 2010
Gordon’s is a wine bar that seems to specialise in port. It is on Villiers street, near the Strand. It is very like having a glass of port in a cave, and I mean that in a good way.
Gordon’s is in some cellars, and if you were tall, you would need to find a table or a hard hat. It is dark and warm and has flickering candles, and is very atmospheric, and slightly Dickensian. I have no idea what price the drinks were – I seem to remember reasonable for London being the general verdict.
I would probably only go there for one drink to finish an evening. This is because even though I totally loved the place, drinking in warm caves seems to be a recipe for getting tipsier than you deserve.
