Gora Ratih Beach Inn Bali Reviews
Budget Stay in Kuta Bali Mar 03, 2011
Gora Beach Inn is a pleasant budget inn to stay at if you are in Kuta, Bali. The standard room per nite was charged at RP150k or equivalent to RM50-60 per night depending on the exchange rate. Basically, you can choose to have a room with fan or with AC. I took one with fan because I can definitely stand the heat and it wasn't bad after all. The ceiling fan is the big white type not the small one stick on to the wall, so it was cooling enough. Each room has two single beds.
The inn keeper was a very pleasant, kind looking old man in his late 50s. He's not at all a hassle and goes straight to business.
Each room can only accommodate two persons max, and the hoteliers are strict about this. I'm not too certain though, if you can request for additional beds. Then again, don't bother, it's so cheap, just get another room. Try and request for the ones facing the pool because it sure gives you a better ambiance.
The inn has a very nice swimming pool for the patrons. Well kept and clean too. Not far from the inn is where the happening night spots are, along Jalan Legian, Kuta Bali. So for party animals, you want booze and music, step outside, walk for less than 5 minutes, and make your pick.
The next time I'm in Bali, Gora Beach Inn will definitely be my choice. A word of cautions for fellow travelers though, if you are the type that is particular about clean bed sheets, bring along one with you. The sheets in the room are fine, but they look rather shabby especially if you were to get one which looks like a blanket. Another thing to remember is this, try not to get the rooms on the ground floor which is next to the street, as the toilet gives out a stale musty smell, I suspect coming from the drain. My apology if I were to offend anybody with this remark. This could also be due to the fact that I have a very sensitive nose which detects foul smell easily :P Or, if there is anything that you are not quite pleased with, just request for a change of room. I'm sure the inn keeper wouldn't mind it at all. On peak seasons, book early, they may not have rooms, that's how popular the place is especially among budget travelers. See you in Gora and safe journey to you! :)
