Goode Company Barbeque
Goode Company Barbeque Reviews
Popular Barbeque in Houston, Texas Aug 02, 2009
Texas is known for its barbeque so I thought I would write a review of a well-known barbeque chain in my city of Houston, Texas.
Goode Company Barbeque, founded in 1977, has three locations in Houston and is always busy. Anything from beef brisket to sausage (either turkey or Czech), ham, ribs, duck or pork is available. In season, Texas turkey is also on order. Side dishes are very filling and can be spicy including jalapeno pinto beans, jalapeno bread or Texas jambalaya. Goode Company is also famous for its pecan pies, which are very rich but oh so good. The founder of Goode Company, Jim Goode, had an uncle captured in World War II, who was assigned to kitchen duty in a prisoner-of-war camp. This uncle made a name for himself baking pies. Goode Company's pies are extremely popular during the U.S. Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays and can even be shipped. As far as cost, a sandwich, drink, side and slice of pie will run roughly $10 to $15 per person. If you are visiting Houston, I recommend trying Goode Company Barbeque. I often take guests from out-of-town as Goode Company is a uniquely Texan experience. |
