Nice Soba Place Jan 18, 2011
Gonpachi is the place for everybody who is tired of looking for a nice restaurant in Tokyo.

You'll be surprised when you look at thier interior.I heard it inspired Quentin Tarantino to make the movie Kill Bill.George Bush once visited there.just go there. It's easy to access, very reasonable.for those reasons, don't forget making reservation.

Gonpachi in Shibuya is a great place for Japanese food, and is very popular with westerners. This resaurant was the model used for the restaurant in the movie "Kill Bill". I didn't see that movie myself, but I heard several people say the resemblance was striking. All I can say is, they had great food! We had a variety of Yakaturi items, mostly chicken and vegetables on skewers. Also, a rice and egg bowl that was delicious! You had to take your shoes off, to sit at the table that was low to, but not on, the ground. Service was great, although our waiter and waitress didn't speak much english. Was still easy to communicate what we wanted. Dessert!!

Perfect for anyone traveling to Tokyo Mar 02, 2007
The fight scene in Kill Bill Vol: 1 with the Crazy 88's was modeled after Gonpachi.

It is a great resturant for anyone who is out and about in Tokyo. They have nomihodai (all you can drink) for 2500 yen for three hours. The table settings have a Japanese feel to them with a Western twist. Instead of having to sit on you legs the whole time the tables are set into a hole in the floor with space for your legs to fit under. Picture sitting in a chair...except the floor is ur chair.

Food is delishious kinda expensive on a college budget, but then again if you are coming to Tokyo you know that the cost of living is high. The staff a courteous and helpful. I went with a group of 19 and they made sure we were well taken care of. A must for any travellers to Tokyo.

( A restaurant in the movie "Kill Bill" was based on this restaurant.)   It was a low-table…
