Golden, CO is really known for one of its most famous residents: Coors Beer. You can smell the making of beer all over town. It is an interesting smell, but pleasant. They have free tours of the plant for the public. Golden can also boast that it was the first capital of Colo. This town is really where you met the west. It sits in the foothills of the Rocky Mountains with Clear Creek River running through the town. The city houses the nation's finest Quilt Museum, The Foothills Arts Center, A Pioneer Museum that takes you to the real Old West and a few more museums and cultural facilities that make for interesting experiences you'll find in all of Colorado; most within a short walking distance from each other. With so many attractions in one place, you'll want to stay the night in Golden in one of their many hotels and B&B’s.
The Colorado School of Mines brings in many scholars from all over the world and is a beautiful campus to visit. Golden also is the place where the six-level Jefferson County Administration and Courts Facility, located at the intersection of 6th Avenue and Jefferson County Parkway in Golden, can be seen for miles from nearly all directions. It is a massive and beautiful facility. Table Mountain is the symbol of Golden. Some of the best hiking is found here, or you can drive your car up and enjoy the spectacular views. Don't miss this Golden opportunity to learn, explore and be inspired by this beautiful Front Range town.

We spent the morning lounging around Rissa's house, making scrambled eggs and doing laundrey. We cut Matt's hair which was a lot of fun. Then Rissa took us for a drive and showed us her hometown of Golden (home of Coors beer). Golden is a cute little western town and I can see why she loves it. She showed us Lookout Mountain and we got a great view of Golden and Denver. Then in the late afternoon we took the short drive to our friend Annalise's house in Boulder. Her house is amazing, complete...

It's in the foothills of the Rockies and home to the Coors brewing company. After taking the tour at Coors, we had a quick lunch in Golden and then drove up to the Rockies for a while. First, we went up to Blackhawk to do a little gambling. I'm not a fan of gambling, so I wasn't too thrilled with our afternoon activiti...
