gold coast hotel and casino Mar 15, 2012
the gold coast hotel and casino is located off the strip and across from the palms and next to Rio .its a older hotel and casino and had nice reviews and was 28 dollars a night.so i booked it . check-in was quick and they were very friendly and i was very surprised as the rooms had style .they had a new special style to them.the rooms were clean and i loved the beds.sad thing is i forgot my camera to take pictures.only down side if there is one is that everyone there is 60 + years old lol aarp gang lol but as far as the hotel rooms they were nice and i would diffenly stay here again and just go across the street to the younger casino the palms. i just saw harriet review and pictures and my room didn't look like hers so i think they may have updated there rooms damn wish i bought my camera

Perhaps one of the few remaining smoking hotels May 08, 2010
Mark and I, recently stayed at the Gold Coast hotel for a weekend. I was pleased with the hotel and it's location. I would not recommend staying on the strip unless you really want to spend the money and be apart of the noise and continued construction. Do not get me wrong, if it is your first time in Vegas, it is a great experience. But for an old timer like me, away from the strip is excellent.

We loved the hotel, recently upgraded, the bathrooms are quite inviting. The rooms are spacious with simple style, yet comfortable. Maid service was commendable.

The room was equipped with a flat panel TV, dresser, side work station with Wifi access for $12.99/ day (a little too pricey). The interior of the hotel in general is older, however they could use a change in the carpet and access elevators.

The parking garage is generous, from whence you can see Rio in it's architectural might. I do recommend this hotel for those who would like to spend less on accommodation, yet have easy access to the strip. We paid $68/night, which was reasonable by all measures.

Harriet, as always a great review! Funny, I don't remember being with you in Vegas (maybe you're talking about another Mark) - but I'm sure we had fun :-D

It was clean and with an updated bathroom. Some of the colors and styling seemed a bit dated. There was an area or two in which you could smell smoke from smokers but not in the room. Overall a good price for a room about a block off the Strip.
