Gold Coast Airport Transfers Reviews
Gold Coast Airport Transfers Aug 21, 2011
So I’m going to write a bit about the airport transport deal here (which I have to admit, very organized. It’s probably better organized than Melbourne or Sydney). There are several ways to getting around and out of the airport. The easiest one (besides taxi) is to use the ‘Gold Coast Tourist Shuttle’ , the orange big bus. Besides covering transportation from and to airport, the buses also drop and pick up passengers to the theme parks around Gold Coast (based on bookings). For return trip to airport, book at least a day before departure, the booking staff will advice you on the pickup time based on your flight detail.
Other alternative is the Surfside Buslines, the local bus services, which have different route numbers and can be easily tracked with the free booklet ‘Get Around Guide’. Surfside Buslines’ fare depends on the zones of travel, and tickets can be purchased from the drivers. Bus 702 and 761 depart from airport to different directions (702 to north, Surfers Paradise direction, and 761 to south, Tweed Heads direction). Routes and fares can be easily checked online at TransLink website. Some information centres in the streets also provide quick guide for bus routes.
Visitors are offered different passes for the transportation :
- Gold Coast Airport Transfers (return) : 35 AUD / adult, or
- ‘Freedom Pass’ (3 / 5 / 7 / 10 days), includes airport transfers + unlimited theme park transfers + Surfside Buslines fares. The 3 days Freedom Pass costs 70 AUD / adult, or
- ‘Gold Pass’ (3 / 5 / 7 / 10 days), everything from Freedom Pass minus the airport transfers. The 3 days pass costs 54 AUD / adult.
- Other alternative is to buy the ‘Go Card’, the tag on / off card that can be refilled. Cheaper than the tickets, if travelling frequently.
