Gołębnik tea room Krakow Reviews
Oct 11, 2007
And again, like in every tuesday, 2 and a half hour break between classes. Where to go, what to do? Polish autumn is one of a kind that decision was exceptionally simple: café! Except for my necessity to be in warm place I needed to wake up, after 1,5 hour classes about history. So, where to go? Nescafe. No, not Nescafe, I've been there too often recently. New place, yes, I wanted to go somewhere where I have never been before.
Where are the nicest, the cosiest cafés at Kraków? Of course at Gołębia street. It is a street full of small, wonderful locals. Gołębnik? Why not? The first thing I saw was a small tables, wonderful cake and a big list of tea. Wonderful! It is a place to everybody who likes delicious, aroma tea from teapots. The choice is really big: from write, red and grenn to black and fruit tea. Special for students: herbal tea called "exam tea". Big plus for teas. Coffee, hot chocolate. You can also order a piece of homemade cake or crunchy tost with whatever you want. It is nice to sit there and drink, talk and stare at the street through the window. If you are a student you aren't feel alone - it is a frequent meeting place of students from the near Jagiellonian University, who often learn there in a quiet, write their notes, read book or a newspaper... The only, and unfortunately big minus is for lack of toilet. For me, I couldn't understand it. But if I come back there? Well, now I want to see sometnihg new. To really good cafes you want to come back with your friend, you want to show this local to this person. Me? Maybe someday...
Average tea prices: 3 - 5 zl.
Others: noticeboard, no WC, prohibition on smoke.
