Gmunden, Austria
Gmunden, Austria Reviews
Oct 02, 2007
We have spent 3 days in Vienna and my boyfriend Marcel decided that we should go see places on our way back to Germany, so we stayed off the expressway and drove through the small villages of Austria, which led us to Gmunden. Gmunden is neither a city or a small village. It is known for the magnificent site overlooking the lake, Grünberg cable car and ceramics. The water looks splendid and the weather is so good as the sun is shining so bright. Words are not enough to describe the site and I ended up sitting and admiring the lakeside for hours, and pictures even doesn't give much justice. There is a sense of peace in the simplicity of the place. I have seen bigger places in Austria and Germany, but this one is worth mentioning. For anyone who likes a good view of the mountains and the river altogether in one view, but still not too far away from civilization, staying off the expressway and spending a few hours close to nature, I would recommend visiting Gmunden, Austria.
