Globetrotter Glasgow May 12, 2007
Globetrotter Glasgow is by far the dirtiest hostel I've ever been in Europe. The rooms were so bad. Our beds were nasty. It looked like it needed some fumigation. The linens had a terrible smell, maybe from the laundry detergent. And the bunks were so flimsy, I thought I was going to break it as I climbed into it. Then the bathroom, OMG! it was like a magnet to all deseases. Luckily, I brought my shower slippers. Otherwise, I wouldn't be taking a shower here. The closest bus stop to the hostel was 10 minutes of walking (Sauchiehall Street). Please don't take this hostel. Trust me, you're better off looking somewehere else. If you plan to go to Edinburgh or Stirling, but your plane arrives in Glasgow -- reserve your hostel in Edinburgh..it's only 1 hour bus ride from Glasgow and they have better accommodations.

excellent value, staff and location;best mattresses in europe Feb 22, 2009
could not fault our stay,it was great value for money and excellently located for most of the walkable attractions which appear to be in the leafy west end rather than the city centre
Hostel is very popular and we were glad we rebooked early. The individual showers were a delight and the instant hot water never ran out. The mattresses were so well sprung had a great sleep and the staff could not be more helpful ,ask for a whisky tasting to be organised. we had a great stay well impressed with wheir multi multilingual website www.glasgowbackpackers.co.uk |

Paint Glasgow Red Feb 22, 2009
Great staff, friendly and accomodating. Every weekend is a big party. Good Sky Movie channel and welcoming atmosphere in the lounge room. In the very heart of Glasgow, i.e., one minute from the famous Sauchiehall Street. Comfortable beds, with good dreaming potential ("good vibes"). Good for a short stay or the longer one. I'm loving it and recommend it to one and all!

delux backpackers in city centre Mar 06, 2009
Tremendous value for money and the luxury of fully sprung mattresses ,o what a great sleep in comfort .
The location just a block away from the park with three great galleries {all free admission and each worth a visit.] in the other direction is the student nightlife centre. you feel the karma here and the nice decor staff and superb kitchen made our trip but glasgow is the real undiscovered gem |
