The Dart stables in Glenorchy offer riding tours to ,,The Lord of the Rings´´ movie sets. It was a very scenic horse ride, which makes you think, you are in the middle of a LOTR movie. So probably a must for every fan!(You also get the chance to ride one of the film horses when you are lucky;-))
I'm not a big LOTR fan (yes, i watched the movies), but when you get to New Zealand you just have to visit the movie sets! No wonder why they filmed it on this BEAUTIFUL piece of land!!

Ouch. Well our night out in Te Anau left me feeling a little tiny bit worse for wear. fortunately, I didn't need to contend with public transport as i'd managed to get a lift back to Queenstown. This had the added bonus on allowing us to leave a lot earlier that the bus (which would have wasted hal…

Kia Ora! I've had the best of times these 2 weeks, met interesting people, saw new places and whilst I couldn't learn a Kiwi accent but I most definitely enjoyed eating 'fesh and cheps'! Hope you enjoy my travelogue as much as I enjoyed my trip.

A morning of indecision led to a glorious afternoon. “Should
I stay or should I go?” was the constant message replaying in my head. I had
been playing most of my trip by feel but the last few days had seemed a bit
rocky and left my decisionometer temporarily disabled. So I was happy to get

So this is our 2.5 year trip!! One year on the long and bumpy road of South and Central America. Our second year started off with 12 weeks in New Zealand, then we headed to Australia! Eagerly clutching our working holiday visas we stayed in Australia for one year for work and travel. The last leg of our 30-month trip was 3.5 months in SE Asia.
(We are home now and oh how we miss travelling!)

Routeburn Track Day 1. Finished at Routeburn Falls Hut. Yep, out of the bus load of people dropped off I was one of the last people to arrive. I was passed by quite a few people who saw me resting by the side of the path. A 23 yr old walked out by people almost twice as old and they beat me by a co…
