Have spent the last fews days at the conference... 4,000 midwives all in one place!... I'll leave you all to imagine that... lol
Was okay - my paper went well. I was so nervous, in the main hall which holds over 5,000 on this enormous stage. Had video with huge screens showing the pre…

My pops has been to scotland roughly ten or more times and was eager to show me and my sibilings the country he fell in love with. We did an independant style of trip moving from hostel to hostel. We were in london for a few days before we took the train up to spend a week in scotland.

summer having finally arrived in glasgow we had a great day out at the botanic gardens. the refurbished Kibble Palace is well-worth a visit as are the glasshouses.took a stroll down Byers road to look in the shops and have lunch. Had lunch in the Curlers bar - great value at two meals for the price of one and a quarter. Then back to the gardens for a walk along the side of the river Kelvin.all-in-all a great day out.

i've finally managed to escape the oh-so-fascinating world of hedge fund finance, and am now decadently indulging my long-suppressed wanderlust with 15 months on the road and around the world... *note: apart from the odd review (generally of something not found in your standard guide book), this is really more just a map of my travels than a proper blog, but if you want more information on anywhere i`ve been or what i`ve been up to, send me a message and i`ll see if i can rustle something up.

This was my maiden trip to Scotland, and it was like seeing a whole new world. In a span of a week, I've tasted modern Glasgwegian glamour, the deep and mysterious Scottish highlands, the joy of fishing villages, the heritage by way of Stirling and the tradition that is the Military Tattoo. All in all, an experience worth dying for.
