Give Trento a chance - Trento - TravBuddy

I spent my year abroad there last year. It is quite small however do not let its size fool you. Piazza Duomo is simply beautiful. Some of the buildings are covered in medieval frescos. Mix that with a neoclassic fountain and small cafés and you have a small paradise. The castle (Castello Buonconsiglio) is within walking distance or the railway station and it is the where the Council of Trent was held. Take a tour and you will see how the castle was used over the years. Surrounding Trento are the mountains. One word summarizes this place: picturesque.

Word of caution: avoid Piazza Dante (directly in front of the railway station) at night. Trento has one of the lowest crime rates in Italy, but that does not mean that one is 100% safe.
