Girona Spain Feb 06, 2017
Girona is in the north east of Spain, between Barcelona and the French border. The district is Catalonia,it is an historic town on a steep hillside , great to visit. Girona is 100 km north of Barcelons Spain.- I stayed at the Hotel Europa, 5 minutes from the rail station.--The Cathedral is up the hill and loads of steps, inside is the worlds widest nave.--The Arab Baths also up the hill, was built around 1190 AD.-- The Bell Tower at the cathedral. -St Feliu a collegiate church from 14th century.-Rambia, a well known street name in Spain ,this one is the Main Street-- The Stone Route , Passeig de la Mualla,is the city wall. The start of the wall is by the river at Placa de Catalunya, and ends at Jardins de Francesa, a walk along the wall is FREE.-- The Air Raid Shelter from the Spanish Cival War , in 1938, is at Placa de Catalunya--The Art Gallery is at the foot of the Cathedral steps.--Girona train station is on the local line to Barcelona,Also there is a high speed train to Paris .I found the website much easier than the RENFE one.
Arab Baths.
