Via Roma 1, Florence, Italy
Gilli's Florence Reviews
Gilli Sep 29, 2009
This elegant cafe is listed in Frommer's Italy, stated as the oldest (founded in 1733!) and most beautiful cafe in Florence. The outdoor area overlooks Piazza Repubblica, and is a nice place to sit for drinks at night.
I just had wine here, with complimentary tidbits by the counter, imagining all the people who had walked through its doors for over 276 years.
After drinks, I had a stroll in Piazza Repubblica, beautiful at night, with lights from the streetlights and merry-go-round, serenaded by a busking trio.
