Giddy Gecko lounge/bar in Siem Reap

Well - another 6 months have gone by and so has another visit to Siem Reap. Needless to say, we visited the Giddy Gecko shisha lounge & bar a few times. This time Matt had added various artifacts to each of the display type tables in the lounge - interesting things. Matt and Alin have an uniquely decorated place. Now printed tee shirts and nice golf type shirt with embroidery GG logo are available. Construction is going on nearby for a resturant and a gift shop near the Giddy Gecko which should help lure additional tourists to come into this newer area behind the Temple Club.
If you get to Siem Reap, relax at the Giddy Gecko. Cannot wait to get back so we might see you again in 6 months or so.

Well a year has gone by and we have returned from another trip to Siem Reap. This year my knee was quite painful so I did not get to see any temples. I did buy a nice wooden cane and hung onto my patient husband nearly every step. However, we did manage to limp down to the Giddy Gecko lounge every night for nearly 2 weeks. Matt and Alin who own the Giddy Gecko were sick so closed a couple of nights. They now have some really cute GG tee shirts for sale.

We slept late every morning, had breakfast and checked emails, ate lots of green curry and fried spring rolls at Khmer Famous in the passage on the other side of Pub street. WE were not ready to leave and return to our work in Bahrain. However, we did return to real life.

GIDDY GECKO BAR/LOUNGE
After we had a late afternoon dinner on the balcony of the Soup Dragon Resturant on Pub Street, we explored the entire area and found ourselves in the alley right behind the Temple Club. There we took quite some time and relaxed and visited with the owners of the uniquely decorated Giddy Gecko bar/lounge which is one Siem Reap’s newest. Giddy Gecko offered a full range of drinks and juices plus we had a chance to experience apple flavored water pipes – the only water pipes in Siem Reap. Late in the evening when we got hungry again, we asked for the food menu and ordered pizza from across the street. My husband had brought his laptop and checked our email. We are sorta "over the hill" and still enjoyed all of this after a day at the Angkor Wat and Bayon temples. Needless to say, a tuk-tuk gave a welcomed ride back across the river to our guest house and a good night of sleep.
