Geylang--the real China town Reviews

Aug 11, 2006

The official China town in Singapore is a nicely decorated tourist spot. Selling expensive Oriental stuff. There's also a museum there showing the old days in Singapore and how Chinese lived at that time. Cost $8 SGD.

I was scared by the admission fee and as a HK Chinese, these kind of exhibition can be easily found in HK cultural museum, which cost only $3SGD I think.

So here comes the real China town....Geylang, here you may not find nice and expensive chineses restaurant or shop selling silk or china. But you can see and experience how Chinese live.

This place is similar to Mongkok and Yau Ma Tei in HK. Nothing special, but  you can see the real life and living of Chinese.
