I found it easy to get around Rome during the day by Bus and Subway. However the subway closes very early around 8 or 9pm so it was difficult to get around at night. Some bus routes run at night but we weren't able to figure them out at 2am. Instead we used cabs at night which were rather expensive. We were on the edge of the city west of the Vatican City and it cost about 20-35 Euro each time we took a cab after the subway closed. So although the place where I stayed, Plus Camping Roma, is very cheap and nice if you plan to be out drinking every night it may be worth to get a place near the bars/ night life entertainment.

I'm sure the pilot was putting abdominal muscles to the test as we touched down (twice actually), but we were here. We managed to find a cheap bus to take us all into the city and drop us off at the main station. Luckily all of our hoste…around it to get a feel for its size. Man that place is enormous! I arrived at the Ciampino airport in Rome late in the morning. As I was going out the arrivals portion of the airport, I noticed a man holding up a sign with my name on it. I approached him, we greeted each other, and was asked to w…get around. A day ticket using the metro is 4 euros. You can either use one of the ticket machines there to purchase a ticket, or purchase through one of the shops they have at the station. My first stop was at the colosseum… Rome |

...do as the Romans do
I sit in my hotel room on my last night in Rome and nearly laugh at that statement. When in Rome,
you say that phrase. I now see why the
last part of the expression is dropped.
If we lived our lives as …around the enormous Vatican walls.
Saturday is a day I’ll never forget.
I must
travel to the land of contradiction, as much as I long to stay out of it. Rome
has been a tough city to get around… When in Rome... |
