Houston is very spread out and has a horrible transit system and NO subway and only one tiny rail line linking the Med Center and Reliant park and Downtown. So, if you are going to be here for awhile, and you want to see a lot of things, you may wish to consider getting a rent car. Might cost you an arm and a leg, but the taxis will cost you all your limbs and maybe your soul once you are done. So much to do here in town...Galleria shopping, downtown, Galveston, NASA, Reliant Park, Minute Maid Park, all the other parks, museums, all these places are so far apart, you do not want your trip upset by having to figure out how to get around in a dirty taxi. So, pawn your old walkman, or sell that old bike before you come and use the money for a rent car in Htown and you will forever more have no regrets..trust me on this one!
If I can rent one in Costa Rica,...
