Geting around in Bangkok Dec 08, 2008
One of the easiest ways to get around in Bangkok is just taking the local buses. Yes it may be a bit of a hassle to find the right one, but usualy it's enough to ask one of the locals, and they wil tell you. It's a cheaper way then taking taxi everywhere (10 baht VS 250 baht).
However in the afternon I would recomend Tuk Tuk more then anything. This is because of the heavy traffic where the buses and taxi get stuck in the ques. The tuk tuk simple drives in the lane for the traffic in the other direction when it is empty. Also much more maneuverability. Should'nt cost more then 100-200 to get around the city on tuk tuk. Also it's quite fun as a first timer in bangkok. |
