Ahh the morning after is never really that good is it? In reality it had only been about 2 hours since the partying had stopped but we all had to be up to check out of the hostel. The hostel had free "breakfast" which was free toast. I was starving since I hadn't eaten since about 3pm the prvious day so I had 6 slices haha. After we got all our stuff together everyone was hanging around in the dining area and outside. And then some more travbuddies from other hostels and hotels came there as …

My hometown Witten is not well known. Even among Germans. German Travel guides usually list ith with a short paragraph only. Actually it is not a beauty, but it has beauty spots and - to me - even charme. Otherwise I would have left. May I introduce you to Witten? Witten, a city with 99,000 inhabitants, is located in the Ruhr (river) valley between the bigger cities of Dortmund, Hagen and Bochum at the southeastern end of the so called „Ruhrgebiet“ area. Since this area is fir…

I usually take the long way to Copenhagen meaning that I drive over Bremen, Hamburg, Flensburg, Fredericia (DK), Odense (DK) and then cross the waters at Storebaelt between Fyn and Sjaelland on the bridge taking the motorway all the way from Brussels to Copenhagen. Crossing the bridge is nice if you haven’t done that before. For a fee of approx. 30€ you get to drive one of the longest bridges in the world.
This time I decided to take another route because I was in good time and I wanted…

As one would expect on a coach, a fitful night of partial sleep but the dawn is a pleasant reward. The ‘Poor’ Berliner girl stretches, turns and smiles “good morning”. Dismounting from the coach in Berlin I get my bearings and wave farewell to ‘Poor’ Berliner girl with whom I’ve not exchanged a solitary word. ‘Poor’ Berliner girl smiles “good bye”.
At the coach station in Berlin I undertake my first public-toilet ablutions session and get ready…

So I was on my way to Dusseldorf, and in Travbuddy meetup tradition, my flight always have to have issues... After my British Airways flight from New York was over an hour late getting to London, the great people at Heathrow did all they could to derail my dusseldorf trip. After running all throughout Heathrow, I arrived at the Luftansa desk with only 10 minutes until my flight was going to leave for Germany and I still had to print my boarding pass agrrhhhh... The desk lady at Luftansa…

After all those cold days, I decided we best do something outside on the nice days ahead of us. So, I ended up going to the Saalburg, a roman fort from the 1 century AD, that was there for ca. 160 years. The Fort was rebuild between 1897 and 1907, thanks to Kaiser Wilhelm II. It is an open-air museum. Great, bring the kids - and if you have German kids, they offer special guided tours, for the youngens. And if you have kids like mine, there is only one door to get in and out of the Fort, so I…

We landed in Hanover about 2 hours later than scheduled. We were met by one of the soldiers from the base, Sergeant Turner - apparently nicknamed Tina! We trailed our kit and luggage through the airport and were preparing ourselves for the 90 minute drive to the barracks near
Münster when the news was broken to us that it was in fact a two and a half our drive. Yikes. We all headed for the toilets and decided the drive would be a good chance to sleep - again! Unfortuantely the van we were …

Its a fantastic spectacle and experience if you can live one year in Heidelberg and see how the city and nature are changing in the four seasons...Specialy the colours of the trees!! I enjoy it every year and i hope i can continue to do it in my future. I just can recommend you to come here and see the pure four seasons just in their nature!
There are some other pics with the people around me!
