Georgetown Overview

Georgetown has been named by the British after King George III, but is unmistakebly a Chinese city.

It is the capital of the island and state of Penang on the West Coast of Malaysia.

The best manner to explore the city is on foot but given the tropical temperatures you can expect to be a sweaty mess in a short while. The great thing about this city is that it's small enough to see all the sights just on foot!

You can also rent a Rickaw (a bicycle taxi) but sadly in recent times these are disappearing in favour of normal motor taxis.

The heritage trail, indicated with signs, is a great route along the most important curiosities.
