Pastel is a kind of fried pastry that, from my experience, I suppose is very popular in its variations around Brazil, Uruguay, Argentina, and also eastern-asian countries such as China and Korea. It can be filled with either salty or sweet flavors, being cheese, grounded meat, and chicken the favorite picks. But it doesn't stop there! At Georges Pastel, you can choose to have some Catupiry cheese (kind of cream cheese) with your chicken, of if you're feeling beachy, you can order a shrimp pastel! They're all equally delicious and cheap! The place is set kinda like a fast food chain. The difference is that you have waitresses to bring your pastel to the table when it's ready. And, of course, don't even try to order a burger, 'cause they don't have it. C'mon, there are plenty of great places to enjoy a homemade burger in Porto Alegre, but this is one pastel you do not wanna miss!
Arriving at Georges'!

well, it is kinda heavy, but only if you order four or five pastéis, which is what I did!
