Gennaro's Italian Ristorante - North Charleston - TravBuddy

This is a family owned restaurant where the owner is always at the door to greet you. They say they are a family friendly restaurant but I personally think it is more of a romantic ambiance than a place to bring children. That kinda ruins the mood. They are located in North Charleston going towards Summerville.

As you enter there is a room to the right. That would be the bar. Tucked away in it's own corner and away from the dining room.

There are two dining rooms. The second dining room, which is in the back of the first has a stage where a Jazz band performs every Thursday. They are fairly good. We've been there twice on a Thursday. It was the same music both times, almost. So, it's nothing really special for more than one visit.

I suppose you'll want to know about the food. I like the Shrimp Alfredo. My husband gets the Shrimp and Salmon Penne. It seems to always be a Special. It's very good as well. Pretty much all of their Italian dishes are tasty.

They have wine of course and a few draft beers. I forget what exactly they have, it's been so long since I ate there.

It is a friendly and cozy place with good food. You should check it out sometime and maybe on a Thursday when you can listen to some live Jazz. Be sure to get there early, they fill up quick.
