The Design Your Own Stir Fry Restaurant! Aug 07, 2011
Genghis Grill is a newcomer to the Kingstowne neighborhood of Fairfax County, VA. We've been twice now and found it a most welcome addition to area restaurants.
At Genghis Grill you design your own stir-fry meal. Guests are given a bowl and then proceed to go though a buffet to add individualized selections of meats and seafood (chicken, shrimp, calamari, beef, sausage), vegetables, (peppers, tomatoes, onions, water chestnuts, snap peas), spices, and sauces. (Tasting spoons are provided to sample the variety of sauces.) You can add a whole egg, too, if desired. One then presents to mix to the cooking station and selects rice or noodles as the base. The chefs then stir-fry your selection on a large grill. (I'm told this is more-a-less a Mongolian style of cooking.)
Once cooked, a waiter brings you meal to your table. All for a set moderate price. What a great concept! It's really good, too. I've selected Udon Noodles and a mildly spicy sauce both times.
There are also preset meals for those who do not wish to choose among the many selections.
Genghis Grill is in 19 states so far. Try it!
