My original plan was to fly to Gdansk and travel by train around the whole country over the course of a month. I began my journey in high spirits as i landed at Lech Walensa airport 40 mins ahead of ourselves and it was snowing fairly heavy. Jumped into a cab driven by an elderly man whos command of the english language only extended as far as '' You want madam? Jiggy-Jiggy?''. Out of his glove box he produced a card for a local erotic bar. I laughed, slaped my lap and told hi...

One day my Norwegian friend Inga ( I met her in a summer school in England) wrote to me that there are really cheap tickets to Gdańsk beeing sold and that she bought one and is flying to Poland (because of this there were more Norwegian than Polish people in this city at that time;) seriously, hehe). Important Polish Vocabulary: Peron = Platform. Once you find your destination on the list of outgoing trains, it's easy to find the platform. Screens on the platforms announce the incoming trains, helping you avoid getting on the wrong one!
The ...

Coming to Poland from Scandanavia (via London) is possible the greatest
feeling ever. This must be how Californians felt in the 90s when
they started moving to Arizona. Or like the first week of getting
paid after college. It's ridiculous! I visited the ATM at
the airport and got my cash in 100 zloty
bills, a little over 30 US dollars each. I then was yelled at on
the shuttle to the city because the 30 minute ride costs only 4.20 zl
and the driver had to ...
