casa mila- La pedrera Jul 19, 2008
Casa Milà,or La Pedrera, built in the years 1906–1910 (officially completed 1912).
My sister doesn't like this building because it is freaky for her.
But I like it, it is like you walk trough some giant forms of bones. You will find there curly walls and some anatomic shapes of chairs, windows, doors...etc.
Maybe you will wish more light, but that is charm of this building.
Roof is special. There are silence guardians and lots of lights and space.

Anyone who goes to Barcelona HAS to see all of Gaudi's stuff...it MAKES the city. I liked Barcelona without it...but I LOVED Barcelona with it. The only downside is, it's free to look on the outside...but costs money to go inside...however...very much worth it. The places to go are Palau Guell (which was being restored when I went) La Pedrera which was really cool because you saw the roof, went outside and well as experienced a bit of a Gaudi museum with an audio tour and seeing his influences from nature. My favorite was Casa Batllo...full of really amazing organic images and lines and colors. Although, I will say that one day I will return to Barcelona to experience the finished masterpiece of his Sagrada Familia...it's a spectacle in and of itself...but it is still a working construction site...but totally worth a visit. Park Guell was also fantastic! Hard to find initially...and a bit of a walk from any subway station...but definitely necessary to visit if you go to Barcelona.

totally agree, and he also designed the lamp posts in Plaza Real, which gives the sleepy architecture fan an excuse to spend the whole night in a pavement cafe too!

The second largest city in Spain, Barcelona is a vibrant and diverse city. Well-known for its nightlife, football (soccer) FC Barcelona, the Gothic Quarter, and Gaudi's works of art and architectures that simply littered the city, Barcelona is a must-see Spanish city. We only had 3 days in this city and they were packed… Spain: Barcelona & Gaudi

I spent the next few days seeing the sights around the city, including the beach and Gaudi architecture. Gaudi's most famous work would be La Sagrada Familia, which construction began on in 1882. It is still under construction to this day and is expected to be finished in at least another 20 years or so! It's quite… The city of Gaudi
