Everglades tour-- Beware of Infinity Tours Jul 21, 2009
Be very careful when booking with Infinity. They ended up leaving us so far away from our hotel that it cost more than the trip to get a cab ride home. They were also over an hour late (and we don't think they were coming except that we called). If I had to do it over again, I would have waited to book until I got down here. We had a lot of trouble with everything we booked with Infinity tours. Be careful! We had other issues with this company, including taking our money for the Key West tour, but not coming to get us. They put us on hold for the "manager" for over 30 minutes during this time we actually walked to their office and there wasn't even a manager there. They have yet to refund our money. They claimed that someone was fired and that's why we didn't get our tour. We had waited over an 1 1/2 hours thinking they were just going to be late again. We tried calling over and over... While we were in there asking for a refund, there was another group of people who came in to complain that they were scammed, too. I just hope this doesn't happen to anyone else. There office is on 1657 Washington Ave. South Beach, Florida... BEWARE! I asked the front desk of our hotel, and he said it is never a good idea to book with Infinity.

Having been on another Air Boat recently, I found that Gator Park was an exceptional experience, far better than the one I had just a few weeks before.
The place is set up like a tourist trap with many interesting trinkets and even souvenir gator heads for your office desk. The staff obviously enjoys what they do and are very helpful and informative. Our tour guide was very pleasant and informative and told us all about that animals and history of the area. He even made part of his presentation standing knee deep in the grassy mulch to illustrate that although the water looked 6 feet deep it was much shallower. On our return we were called to a small area where a funny little man with a squint in his eye called us for the gator wrestling demonstration. He let us touch the baby gator, only about a year old and even called us out to volunteer to hold a slightly larger older specimen for pictures. Over all a much more pleasant ride and although more expensive, so worth it! Get your tickets online for a discount! Part of the The South Florida Experience travel blog |

We continued on our way into the Everglades and stopped at Gator Park on Tamiami Trail for a show and an Airboat ride.
We toured the River of Grass with enthusiasm and had a great time sliding over the swamplands. Our Airboat Captain invited us to join him bare footed in the swamp… The South Florida Experience |

We all crowded round, amazed that not five feet away from us was a huge gator, seemingly unfazed by us. We walked further into the park, and the torchlight picked out shining spots all around, literally everywhere we looked there were gators. They like to feed at night, as the night is much cooler and they dont expend as much… Here a croc, there a croc, everywhere a croc croc (ok alligator) |
