Nice and peaceful location Feb 17, 2017
The location of the guest house is near the Lahn river, Nassau Castle is just a short walk. I'm impressed of surroundings, so quiet and peaceful. In the evening you can walk along the river there's a walking path or rent a canoe or kayak the owner has one for rent. This place is also popular for bikers to overnight, they had campground as well for people who wants to sit up a tent in the summer

We arrived late in the afternoon and did not know where to check-in, we went inside to a restaurant there's a guy on the counter who doesn't speak English he called someone, a lady came she speak English a little bit, is Polish people who run the place

She just took us to our room. The room is basic with one double bed, small tv, two chairs and table. A cabinet right behind the door. They have different rooms: suite or with balcony, we book a standard room. Free wifi overall with login password.

The bathroom is somewhat small with shower, toilet and lavabo and is clean.

The least thing I didn't like inside the room, there wasn't enough electrical plugs. There were two plugs available one is located next to a switch which was too high to used and the other one is in the bathroom the one for hair dryer. Anyway we sorted it out, I use one in the bathroom for charging

A good breakfast included serves between 8 and 10 am. The guesthouse has restaurant with nice outdoor seatings.

They don't accept credit card if you plan to stay and dine this only payable in cash. Laurenburg is very tiny town/village no banks or ATM machine, before coming to the area be sure to withdraw some cash in bigger towns

We had two night stay with them. As a guest house the room is not make-up in the morning and expect to use the same towels unless you request a make up in your room

We came here in August 2016 price is 60€ a night with breakfast and car parking via I can say that well worth it for the price

Don't have much choice Feb 17, 2017
We're likely landed in the middle of nowhere, where aren't much around, we're kind of allied to our hotel for dinner. The bigger town is about 13 km away although we have a car but we didn't feel like driving anymore after a four hours drive.

The restaurant has a nice outdoor sitting along the Lahn river so peaceful around. The lady owner is the only one who serve around and there were more local visitors, so kind of busy in the evening

German food is more like schnitzels and is not my favourite thing. On the menu card there were different kind of schnitzels offered, but I opt for ordinary salad. Didier order a Maultaschensuppe sort of big ravioli filled with spinach.

The service is very quickly despite how busy it was. The salad didn't worth the price of 7.50€ what I have is only leaf with a few sliced tomato, tiny grated carrot a few sliced pepper and sauce over it, it doesn't taste like the way it is. The ravioli for the price of 7.50€ taste a bit weird, but okay we're just too lazy to drive the next town. We're here for two nights, the next time we'll be in bigger town for dinner
