Gas Light District, San Diego
Gas Light District, San Diego Reviews
Apr 15, 1998
San Diego has taken an older part of downtown and done some wonderful remodeling, upgrading, and general sprucing up including some very period street lights, hence the name Gas Light District. There is plenty of great shopping from boutiques and small specialty shops to larger chain stores and a mall, and of course plenty of night-life bars, lounges, and saloons. But the restaurants that dot this area are where you really have to be careful. Preying on the tourist trade they charge outrageous prices for mediocre or worse food. I went into an Italian restaurant with a party of twelve, and three of our party had to send their food back because it was badly prepared. And several of us where quite sick the next day, and we all blamed the dinner there. Take care in choosing a meal. Maybe shopping and drinking should be your choices.

Of course, some of the diners took the joke too far and ended up throwing food at one another, that’s my queue to get the truck… Sea World or the Zoo? |
