Garuda Plaza Hotel

When I browsed a nice, clean hotels for a few days stay in Medan, I was being informed of this hotel by local travel agent. I then checked the hotel's website and think "okay.. this looks nice & clean"... since they said the have just renovated their building. And it turned out to be satisfying choice :).

Despite of the discounted price offer from the travel agent, Garuda Plaza offers a nice and warm reception, warm smiles from the staffs. Though hotel is owned by local businessman the management has adopted international hotel management style which reflected in the hotel design, services and staffs.

In overall this hotel provides you amenities within affordable price. Major airline offices , travel agent, ATMs are located near the lobby so it is very convenient for travellers to make travel arrangements. WiFi hotspots are provided in the lobby and restaurant area. Not to mention convenient stores and the worth-to-try local restaurants are at only 3-5 minutes walking distance.

Try to ride the "becak motor" (local pedicab) that hanging out in front of the hotel to explore the city. And if you keen (or dare) to try the famous "durian Medan", just ask the pedicab driver to take you to "Ucok Durian" (the famous durian seller in Medan) .... and that heavenly durian taste will be at the tip of your tongue within 10 minutes ;).
